FunkKit welcomes 2012!

Before we turn to 2012, let’s dive back into 2011, and recall some of FunkKit’s highlights from the past year.

FunkKit Workshops
The collaboration with comic, FunkKit Comic Workshop illustration artists such as Dorit Maya Gur, Dan Allon and Matan Liberman have lead us to also create FunkKit Workshops for kids ages 7-16. The kids’ creations were amazing; they came up with many new combinations and added their personal touch by drawing with permanent markers on the stickers themselves. The best part was that the kids’ parents were into designing their own shoes just like their kids.

Designers Community
As you know FunkKit is more than just Stickers for Sneakers, FunkKit provides an opportunity for designers to showcase their artwork.
In April, we started a project with design students in various art, fashion and design institutes. We invited them to create inspirational designs and get involved with FunkKit’s online platform. We had FunkKit’s first designers’ contest and received over 100 designs from designers all over the world. The highlights are currently presented at our online gallery. To read more about our collaboration with Ort Harmalin, click here.

On a personal note, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all the talented designers who joined our community, we are incredibly grateful for the support each one of you showed. We don’t take you for granted, and we’re honored to collaborate and share such a close and friendly working relationship with so many of you.

All the questions you want answered about FunkKit – Stickers for Sneakers

FunkKit-Stickers for Sneakers-Before & After We have received numerous inquiries lately regarding our Stickers For Sneakers, and although we did get around to provide a personal reply to every question, we’ve decided to share this post in an attempt to answer questions more generally. So…Whether you’re a teen, tween or young in mind, FunkKit – Stickers for Sneakers allows you to customize your shoe and make a new fashion statement every day.

What are FunkKit – Stickers for Sneakers made of?
FunkKit’s Stickers for Sneakers are made of unique high end stickers allowing you to design your shoe each time differently, and most importantly the stickers are removable.

Can I remove FunkKit’s stickers for sneakers?
Of course! As previously said, FunkKit Stickers for Sneakers are removable. You can change the design every week, day, or hour! Simply peel of the designed sticker just like any other sticker you are familiar with.

What would be the best material to apply FunkKit stickers for sneakers onto?
The stickers are best applied on plastic or leather shoes, both light and dark. Suede and wool surfaces won’t give as good results. For best results, we recommend the time of use to be a week up to one month, depending on use and environment.

How long will it take to design the sneakers with the Full Design Stickers?
It can take anywhere between 3 – 15 minutes depending on the size and amount of material used. You are invited to check out our step-by-step tutorial video.

How can I keep the stickers for sneakers looking good on my sneakers?
The concept behind FunkKit Stickers for Sneakers is the ability to change and customize your shoe each time again, unlike other permanent solutions. It’s important to note that the stickers cannot be applied on the shoes while using the washing machine. If you want to clean the stickers you can use water and a clean cloth, sponge or paper towel. The stickers are water-resistant; however, the soap and solvents can damage the printing.

We’re here to assist and offer you all the help and support needed.
With any additional question, you’re welcomed to contact us or review our FAQ section at www.funkkit.com/faq.html.

We customize our laptops, cell phones, I-pods, so why not customize your shoes?

FunkKit and Ort Hermalin join forces

FunkKit is all about art, self-expression, and footwear and when combining this together with a great deal of passion and wild imagination you receive a new kind of sneaker art. This gets even better when combining it with a community of talented designers.

We recently started a project with design students in various art, fashion and design institutes. We invited them to create inspirational designs and get involved with FunkKit’s online platform. We presented and give them tips on designing their own FunkKit – Sticker for Sneakers, and as always highlighted that it’s time for creativity without limitation, almost everything we see can be modified to an artistic style to be applied on shoes.

We asked two of Ort Hermalin’s students to share with us their thoughts and experience;
Mohammed Erow, specializes on Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, InDesign and Premiere.
“What was your first reaction when hearing about the FunkKit project and the design opportunity?” “At first I thought FunkKit would be just like any other design projects, but it didn’t take long to understand that FunkKit’s platform is unique and offers a great opportunity to receive exposure and acknowledgment.”

Elina Frayerman, 24 years old, specializes on Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash and InDesign. Winner of FunkKit’s design contest – Community’s most Liked design.
“How did you feel when you were announced as the contest winner
for the Most Liked design with more than 760 Facebook Likes?”

Funkkit's Winner Most Liked Design“When I was announced as the winner I was really excited and thrilled! I would like to take this opportunity to send a big thank you to my friends who showed their support and helped me. All the “Likes” were worth it!”
“Origami was your first published work, what should we expect from your following works?” “I’m currently working as a freelancer and trying to gain experience. I think my following works will continue to have the same clean and simple style as they always do, but always with some kind of message or motto :)

We had a great time at ORT Hermalin, this group of talented, creative people made us proud and we are honored to collaborate with them.

Go creative, look cute but daring and don’t forget to have a sense of humor.

We look forward to see more creative designs.
